Hilltop’s Vision: Filling the gaps for those under served or not served
Hilltop’s Mission: To provide leadership for community-based services that foster self-sufficiency and enrich quality of life
In 1950, Hilltop Community Resources, Inc. began as a small outpatient clinic for people with physical disabilities. By 1977, the clinic had grown into the largest rehabilitation hospital between Denver and Salt Lake City. Due to the changing medical climate, Hilltop sold its rehabilitation hospital in 1996 to St. Mary’s Hospital, but continued to focus on the gaps of service in the area and take on new program services.
Hilltop has since grown to 21 community-based programs and three Senior Living Communities, The Fountains, The Commons, and The Cottages, serving 20,000 individuals annually in Mesa, Delta, Montrose, and Ouray counties. For over half a century, many young children, teenagers, adults, and seniors have created new futures for themselves with the help of Hilltop’s programs.
Hilltop’s key management staff and Board of Directors provide a core of experience, commitment, and vision to this dynamic organization's stewardship. The Board oversees policies and finances, and is comprised of representatives from private industry, educational institutions, and community-based organizations. The organization is managed by a six-member senior level executive team and program managers who provide the development, support, supervision, and expertise necessary to effectively and efficiently manage over 500 employees.
